President of the Turkish Constitutional Court, Mr. Kadir Özkaya, received the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia, led by Dr. Darko Kostadinovski, President of the Constitutional Court of North Macedonia, and including Judges Mr. Fatmir Skender, Ms. Tatjana Vasikj-Bozadzieva, Ms. Dr. Ana Pavlovska-Daneva and Legal Advisor Mr. Dr. Ekrem Halimovski. During the meeting, which was also attended by Mr. Jovan Manasijevski, Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia to Ankara, President Özkaya was accompanied by Vice-President of the Turkish Constitutional Court Mr. Hasan Tahsin Gökcan. The Presidents, Mr. Özkaya and Dr. Kostadinovski, emphasised the long-standing ties between the respective countries, which are firmly rooted in a shared history and continue to foster positive outcomes in present-day relations. They expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to convene and to further enhance mutual dialogue.

Following the meeting held in President Özkaya’s office, bilateral meetings were conducted with the participation of Justices of the Turkish Constitutional Court, Mr. Recai Akyel, Mr. Kenan Yaşar, Mr. Muhterem İnce, Mr. Yılmaz Akçil, and Mr. Metin Kıratlı. Discussions during the meetings encompassed matters relating to the legal systems and case-law of the respective courts, as well as an exchange of information on topics such as the individual application mechanism and the execution of judgments. Additionally, both courts reiterated their commitment to collaborate on the activities to be carried out within the scope of the Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum.

As part of its official visit to the Court, the delegation of the Constitutional Court of North Macedonia also paid visits to the Court of Cassation and the Council of State.
