President of the Turkish Constitutional Court Mr. Kadir Özkaya received Ms. Holta Zaçaj, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, and the accompanying delegation in his office. President Zaçaj was accompanied by the members of the Albanian Constitutional Court, and Ms. Blerta Kadzadej, Albanian Ambassador to Ankara. During the meeting, President Özkaya referred to the historical and cultural ties between the two countries and expressed his gratitude for the visit of the delegation.

In the meeting during which the positive reflections of the mutual goodwill and cooperation between the constitutional courts of the two countries were discussed, the parties expressed their hopes that the strong relations between them would continue to flourish. In this context, it was agreed to update the bilateral memorandum of cooperation between the two courts, which was signed in 2013. In addition, on behalf of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, which holds the term presidency of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts, President Zaçaj extended her sincere thanks to the Turkish Constitutional Court and President Kadir Özkaya for their support in the process of being elected as the term president.

Following President Özkaya’s reception of the delegation in his office, a working meeting was held between the parties where they exchanged knowledge and experience on their respective legal systems and jurisprudence.

Within the scope of their working visit, the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania also visited Anıtkabir, the Court of Cassation and the Council of State.
