The Opening Ceremony on the 54th Anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey commenced on 25 April 2016 at the Supreme Criminal Court Hall (“Grand” Hall) with the opening speech by Mr. Zühtü ARSLAN, the President of the Constitutional Court.

The international symposium organized under the 54th Anniversary Activities of the Constitutional Court, themed as “The Execution of Judgments Concerning Individual Applications and Their Effects” was held on 25-26 April 2016 at the Grand Hall with the participation of the Presidents, Justices of the Constitutional Courts from 23 countries and the representatives of the European Court of Human Rights, Council of Europe and Venice Commission, and came to an end with the closing speech by Mr. Burhan ÜSTÜN, the Vice-President of the Constitutional Court.

In the afternoon on 26 April 2016, the foreign guests having participated in the 54th Anniversary Activities took part in the cultural program.

Mr. Zühtü ARSLAN, the President of the Constitutional Court, had bilateral discussions with the Presidents of the Constitutional Courts of Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan and Slovenia. Besides, the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Cooperation was signed between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey and the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.

The activities ended with the speech of thanks given during the gala dinner on 28 April 2016 in Antalya by Mr. Zühtü ARSLAN, the President of the Constitutional Court, to the delegations having attended the 54th Anniversary.
