A memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation was signed between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Togo, which paid a working visit to Türkiye.

Within the scope of the visit, which took place on 8–9 December 2025, a bilateral meeting was held between the President of the Turkish Constitutional Court, Mr. Kadir Özkaya, and the President of the Constitutional Court of Togo, Mr Djobo-Babakane Coulibaley.

During the meeting, President Kadir Özkaya expressed his gratitude for the visit of the Togolese delegation and expressed his belief that the visit would further strengthen relations between the courts of both countries. President Özkaya briefed the visiting delegation on the working procedures and principles of the Constitutional Court and shared his assessments regarding constitutional review within the Turkish legal system.

President of the Constitutional Court of Togo, Mr Djobo-Babakane Coulibaley, for his part, noted that ties between the two countries had expanded across various fields in recent years, and expressed his conviction that the judicial cooperation would also yield highly positive outcomes. He also extended his thanks to President Özkaya for the hospitality.

Subsequently, an inter-delegation meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Özkaya and President Djobo-Babakane Coulibaley, during which both delegations exchanged information on the legal systems and constitutional case-law of the respective countries.

Among those who attended the meeting were Vice-Presidents of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Hasan Tahsin Gökcan and Mr. Basri Bağcı; Members of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Engin Yıldırım, Mr. Rıdvan Güleç, Mr. Selahaddin Menteş, Mr. Yılmaz Akçil and Mr. Ömer Çınar; as well as Members of the Constitutional Court of Togo, Ms. Payadova Boukpessi and Mr. Jerome Koffi Amekoudi.

Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation was signed between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Togo.
